Course sequences

For maximum student success, the Art Department now requires that the courses be taken in a specific order. (Effective Fall 2011)

Drawing
•    Drawing I is a prerequisite for Drawing II.
•    Drawing I is a prerequisite for Figure Drawing I.
•    Figure Drawing I is a prerequisite for Figure Drawing II.

Painting
•    Drawing I is a prerequisite for Acrylic Painting I
•    Acrylic Painting I is a prerequisite for Acrylic Painting II

Ceramics
•    Ceramics I is a prerequisite for Ceramics II
•    Ceramics II is a prerequisite for Ceramics III

3D/Sculpture
•    Three Dimensional Design is a prerequisite for Sculpture I
•    Sculpture I is a prerequisite for Sculpture II

Photography
•    Digital Photography or Black and White Photography: either one is a prerequisite for Advanced Photography I
•    Advanced Photography I is a prerequisite for Advanced Photography II
•    Advanced Photography II is a prerequisite for Advanced Photography III

Graphic Design
•    Digital Art I and Digital Art II are both required as prerequisites for Typography
•    Typography is a prerequisite for Digital Illustration
•    Typography is a prerequisite for Advertising Design
•    Digital Illustration and Advertising Design are both required as prerequisites for Graphic Design

Art History
•    Survey of Western Art I and Survey of Western Art II may be taken in either order.
