This year, the Kern County Department of Agriculture and Measurement Standards reached out to local students, looking for artwork that depicted local Agriculture.  We were very pleased that Kelly McLane's entire Art class used this opportunity to show their individual talents.  We have chosen the top 4 pieces of artwork to be included in our 2013 Kern County Annual Crop Report, which will be released online this summer at www.kernag.com.  The publication is used by analysts, industry, firms, government agencies, students, and other individuals interested in Kern County's unique agriculture.

We appreciate the support that Bakersfield College and your department has shown and look forward to participation in future projects.  I've attached the top 4 art pieces for your viewing, in order from 1st Place to Honorable Mention.  I was able to visit the class yesterday, present them with award certificates, and was very impressed with their good nature and enthusiasm!
